Eppendorf, BioLabs Expand Collaboration to New Munich Site

Eppendorf will be a Gold Sponsor of the BioLabs | TUM site, which opened this past summer.

Editor’s Take: Extending this partnership to the Munich site continues a relationship that already spans Germany, France, and the U.S.

Eppendorf and BioLabs announced their pre-existing collaboration is extending to the new BioLabs | TUM site in Munich. The two companies’ relationship already includes BioLabs locations in Germany, as well as the United States and France.

This site, which opened in summer 2026, offers both shared and private laboratory spaces. Also contained there are offices and operational support, plus access to a roster of entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and other partners.

How Eppendorf Helps in Munich

Eppendorf, which develops, manufactures, and distributes laboratory instruments, consumables, and services worldwide, will be a BioLabs | TUM Gold Sponsor. BioLabs says Eppendorf will contribute technologies and expertise supporting day-to-day research and growth.

Axel Ziemke, Vice President Central Area EMEA, Eppendorf Vertrieb Deutschland GmbH, says this expansion serves a new generation of biotechs. This is particularly true in terms of accessibility to Eppendorf’s equipment and expertise, Ziemke says.

And, Ziemke also adds, the partnership’s practical lab support combines with opportunities for “direct exchange” between Eppendorf and innovative companies.

BioLabs Eager to Continue Partnership

Meanwhile, BioLabs CEO and Founder Johannes Fruehauf reflected on the two companies’ relationship to date.

“BioLabs’ partnership with Eppendorf spans more than a decade,” Fruehauf said. “We are very proud to extend this long-standing collaboration to Munich. Our mission is to support entrepreneurs and innovative scientists as they bring breakthrough ideas to life. We are confident that Eppendorf shares that commitment. We are excited to have Eppendorf join us in supporting the next generation of life-science companies in Munich.”

Fruehauf adds that the two sides intend to further build upon their collaboration within the life sciences ecosystem in Munich.
